Verizon Communications appears ready to grow and expand Fios TV and Broadband to more cities in the U.S.Boston (ChattahBox) – Verizon Communications appears ready to grow and expand Fios TV and Broadband to more cities in the U.S.

Verizon is waiting for approval from the New York Public Service Commission, and plans to start their growth by launching Fios TV and Broadband in New York City starting next month.

Verizon COO Denny Strigl spoke at the NxtComm trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada, stating that he hopes to move beyond New York City to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and other cities in the near future.

The Fios service provides cable TV, broadband internet, and telephone all over a connection.

Beyond the announcement of expansion, they have revealed that the speed of Fios Broadband has been upgraded.

The highest service will now offer 50Mbps downloads, and 20Mbps uploads.

The lowest-tier speeds have also doubled to 10Mbps downloads, and 2Mbps uploads.
