According to iSuppli, the parts for the 3G iPhone cost Apple $164, while the assembly of the 3G iPhone costs them just $9.

This means that Apple is making a nice profit on every single 3G iPhone they produce.

Though there have yet to be any official internal parts for the 3G iPhone revealed, many believe that these iSuppli numbers are accurate.

These numbers reveal a considerable mark-up on every 3G iPhone from Apple.

The cost does not factor in software development, shipping, packaging, etc.
