SanDisk To Take On The CD With slotMusic Format

SanDisk Corp. has joined up with record labels and retailers Wal-Mart Stores Inc. as well as Best Buy Co. to take on the CD with a new format, slotMusic.......Washington (ChattahBox) – SanDisk Corp. has joined up with record labels and retailers Wal-Mart Stores Inc. as well as Best Buy Co. to take on the CD with a new format, slotMusic.

SlotMusic is the new music format developed by SanDisk Corp. and will have entire albums being put on a microSD card, along with a USB dongle, cover art, and more included.

The price point for the new albums on slotMusic is said to be competitive with the prices of CDs.

SanDisk has joined up with many record labels including Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Group PLC, and Warner Music Group Corp.

All of the songs on slotMusic will be in MP3 format, and will be free of copy protections.
