October 22, 2008

EBay has announced the ban on the sale of ivory products on their auction site as of January 2009.Washington (ChattahBox) – EBay has announced the ban on the sale of ivory products on their auction site as of January 2009.

EBay has been under a great deal of pressure from The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

This announcement came just before a new report was published called Killing with Keystrokes.

The report revealed that there were 7,122 online auctions, advertisements, and such that involved ivory trade.

On top of that, due to this fact they blamed the U.S. on up to two-thirds of the ivory trade worldwide.

This blows away other countries such as United Kingdom and China ten-fold.
