Power.com Launches Social Inter-Networking Today

December 1, 2008

(ChattahBox) — A new venture backed by Brazilian-based Power.com, launches a new social inter-networking platform this evening. This new platform allows the user to interact with all their contacts on all their social networks at one place. This means you can now login at one website and manage all your profiles on Facebook, MySapce, Twitter, Gtalk, etc. if the sites are accessed via Power.com the data is aggregated which means that user gets added features as well.

The service has been live since August and boasts of more than 5 million users already. However, the whole platform remains still unknown in the US. Till date the site supported only a few networks but now it is capable of handling nearly all the major social networking websites like FAcebook, Orkut, MySpace, Hi5, Bebo and other niche sites like YouTube, Gtalk, Flickr, etc. It will also launch its syncing  services with LinkedIn and Twitter. A little later the users will also be able to sign in with their phone number.

Power.com works bilaterally for a user. This means if the user updates the profile on Facebook, it automatically updates the profile on all other social networking websites where the user holds the account. The website has been working secretly so far and has managed to create a strong presence in the US. It boasts of 500,000 users everyday with approximately 300,000 visitors coming directly from Power.com using the website as their homepage. The site has so far focused mainly on traffic coming from Orkut, a site which has the bulk of its visitors coming from Brazil and India specifically.

According to the founder Steve Vachani, Power.com is the first platform that introduces “social inter-networking” which it defines as ““your social network, email, instant messenger, and mobile phone accounts, content and contacts always synchronized, interoperable and connected together.”
