Self Flattening Speedbump May Save Your Suspension

December 12, 2008

Japan (ChattahBox) – Anyone who has ever driven or ridden in a car has been forced to endure the irritation of speed bumps, not to mention the damage they can do to your car. They are sometimes a necessary evil, but an annoying road hazard at times. But help may be on the way.

Thanks to the developing genius of Jae-yun Kim & Jong-Su Lee, those bumpy buggers may be a thing of the past. The idea is simple: speed bumps are made to stop people speeding, right? Well, what if when you were going slow, or even just the speed limit for the area, they flattened to allow you to pass without jarring you out of your seat? See? It’s like I said….genius.

While there are no plans for mass development, the idea seems like a pretty solid one, so I wish the boys best in ironing out the wrinkles for the idea, and hope that once they have some working prototypes, some slightly eccentric but generous multi-billion dollar oil tycoon decides he loves the idea too.
