Honda Announces New Hybrid Models Of Old Favorites

July 14, 2009

Japan (ChattahBox) – Honda has released a statement this week that it is creating a new hybrid sports car, as well as a hybrid version of it’s already popular model, Fit.

CR-Z hybrid sports car will be the first by Honda to offer an affordable, easily made, and accessible hybrid vehicle, and the company is basing a heavy amount of funds to make it a popular choice for car buyers.  Japan’s second- largest carmaker will bring out a hybrid version of the Fit car next year and the hybrid CR-Z sports coupe in February.

According to a report by USA Today, they are even speaking as though they believe that hybrids are the future, not only for their company, but for the world at large.

It’s a big change in attitude from the halfhearted attempts at hybrids in the past.

The Insight is expected to cost less than $20,000, and it is hoped that it will be a lead in 2011’s Honda hybrid sales.  The new vehicles will give Tokyo-based Honda four hybrids in its lineup. Hybrid versions of all of its models should be available within 20 years, the company announced.
