Google Launches New Tools For Search Engine

October 2, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Google has upped their game as Microsoft’s Bing gains popularity, adding nine new search tools to make their engine more efficient than ever.

“Today we’re announcing nine new Search Options tools: past hour, specific date range, more shopping sites, fewer shopping sites, visited pages, not yet visited, books, blogs and news,” Google’s product manager, Nundu Janakiram, said.

“These features have been rolling out gradually and will be available globally in English by the end of the day. You can try them yourself by searching Google and clicking ‘Show options’ in the blue bar just under the logo.”

These are the second changes to be made this week for the huge search engine, including the ability to search responses from forums, which was incoporated earier this week.

While Google will no doubt claim the new tools are purely a means of increasing customer satisfaction, the fact that they have been nervous over the rising popularity of Microsoft’s Bing, a search engine built to be more targeted in it’s results, is likely not a coincidence.
