The 13 security bulletins, or patches also include several patches for the new operating system upgrade Windows 7, which won’t be released until next week.

The record number of security fixes targeted 34 vulnerabilities discovered in Windows, Internet Explorer, Silverlight, Office and other software products.

Microsoft warned its customers that six of the patches were considered high priority and should be put into place immediately.

The security flaws found in Windows 7 has some customers concerned about the stability of the operating system upgrade, considering the many compatibility problems with Vista.
