On Thursday, many gay rights groups were out in celebration as a Supreme Court ruling came in with a vote at 4-3, in favor of making gay marriages legal in the state of California.

The likely scenario is that within a month, same-sex couples will be able to officially become married couples.

The gay community was out in celebration on Thursday outside City Hall, waving gay-pride flags. Many also have already made appointments to get gay marriage licenses.

There is no telling how long this will last though, as a vote is planned to try and make same-sex marriages unconstitutional.
