Starting June 15, passengers will have to pay $15 to check just one bag.

This goes on top of the decision made two weeks ago to charge $25 for a second checked bag.

This change is due to the rising oil prices and weak U.S. economy. The price of oil jumped to $133.17 a barrel on Wednesday, up $4.19.

American Airlines has also announced they will cut flights by 11% to try and cut down costs.

It is believed that other airlines will follow the lead of American Airlines in charging to check bags.

They also plan to raise fees for services such as help with reservations, oversized bags, etc.
