It has been the roughest season of severe storms in a decade in the Midwest.  Tornadoes over the weekend caused at least 7 deaths and major destruction.New York (ChattahBox) – It has been the roughest season of severe storms in a decade in the Midwest. Tornadoes over the weekend caused at least 7 deaths and major destruction.

The 7 deaths come from both Iowa and Minnesota, with the death toll possibly rising further over time.

Since 2008 began, there have been over 100 deaths related to tornadoes in the Midwest according to the national Weather Service.

This is the highest death toll in nearly a decade.

The tornadoes on Sunday caused an amazing level of damage, devastating towns.

The governor of Iowa toured the hardest hit areas and has pledged to ask President Bush for federal aid.
