It took the jury only two days to come to their decision.

The jury of six women and six men were trying to decide whether to believe the prosecution, or the defense.

The defense was arguing that the wife of Entwistle shot her 9-month old daughter, and then shot herself, committing suicide.

They instead went with the prosecution, and found Entwistle guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, as well as two firearms charges.

Entwistle stood very still as the verdict was read. Reports state he shook his head from side to side after he heard it it with his own ears.

The mother of Neil Entwistle, Yvonne Entwistle, told reporters afterwards that “We know that our son, Neil, is innocent.”

Entwistle will be formally sentenced on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.

The charge of first-degree murder carries with it a mandatory sentence of life in prison, without any chance of parole.

The charge will also require an automatic review by the Supreme Judicial Court.
