Barack Obama went to Hollywood on Tuesday night, and managed to raise $11 million for his campaign and the general election efforts of the Democrats.

This is a new record for a one-night fund-raising event.  The previous record was set a month ago when the campaign raised $7 million in one night.

Obama showed a great deal of poise in Hollywood, urging his Democratic supporters to keep the goal in sight.

He made it clear that the poll numbers are going to continue to move, but that the focus remains to be kept.

Obama said to the crowd before leaving, “Don’t spend time reading blogs, don’t watch cable news.  Just remember what this campaign is about.”

It is expected that this will be his last visit to this area before the election.

Tickets to the reception and dinner were said to be priced at $28,500 each, with 300 attending.

The event was held at the Greystone Mansion, with many big names showing up.
