Mental Health Bill Passed, Awaits Bush Approval

The U.S. Congress passed a new mental health bill on Tuesday, which now awaits only the approval of President George W. Bush..Washington (ChattahBox) – The U.S. Congress passed a new mental health bill on Tuesday, which now awaits only the approval of President George W. Bush.

This new mental health bill will bring big changes.

It will require health insurance companies to treat mental illness, as well as drug and alcohol abuse treatments the same as other illnesses

They will not be able to put higher co-payments and deductibles for mental health patients.

The bill is known as the mental health parity bill and passed the House of Representatives 376-47.

The Senate has already approved the bill as part of a tax bill 93-2 as well
