The U.S. Justice Department announced that the 20-year old son of Democratic state legislator Mike Kernell was indicted this week.

David Kernell has since turned himself into authorities, but has denied that he hacked the e-mail account of Palin.

According to the indictment, he hacked into the account on September 16th using the password reset feature Yahoo! Mail has.

Once he got it, he posted messages from the e-mail on 4chan.org, under the name “rubico.”

He also allowed others to have access to the account.

If convicted, he may get up to 5 years in jail, as well as a $250,000 fine.
