A 4-3 decision by the Connecticut Supreme Court on Friday made same-sex marriages legal in the state of Connecticut for the first time.

The 85-page decision was issued just before noon on Friday, and killed off a law which banned same-sex marriage.

The Supreme Court stated that they found no reason to leave the ban in place, and thus overturned the halw.

Connecticut joins the state of Massachusetts, as well as the state of California, who also both allow same-sex marriages.

Gay couples are going to be allowed to marry in the state in 20 days, barrying any attempts to delay the ruling.

In January, the state’s marriage laws are also expected to be changed to adhere to the ruling.
