Mother Of Octuplets + 6 More Asking $2 Million for Interview

February 2, 2009

(ChattahBox) — The single mother of octuplets born in California last week, 33-year-old Nadya Suleman, is rumored to be asking for $2 million from suitors for sit-down media interviews. And she’s also seeking commercial sponsors to her babies.

Although still confined to an LA hospital bed, Suleman plans on speaking with either Oprah, Katie Couric  or Diane Sawyer but expects to get paid. Oprah an Diane and Katie may, are likely lining up to interview Suleman, but they don’t typically pay for such interviews, so we’ll see who’s desperate for an exclusive at any cost or whether the baby-crazed  mother relents.

Nadya also reportedly wants her own television series as a childcare expert, and wants commercial sponsorship, such as free diapers.

But, the controversy surrounding her test tube babies may hinder Suleman’s earning power, as her familial, financial, employment, and possibly mental circumstances are less than ideal, with the woman described as “obsessed with children.”

Suleman, who describes herself as a “professional student” living off education grants and parental money, broke up with her boyfriend before the birth of her first child seven years ago.  Suleman, lives in a 2 bedroom house with her bankrupt parents and older 6 kids (all under the age of 8, one of whom is autistic). Angela and Ed Suleman, Nadya’s parents, bought her a two-bedroom bungalow in the suburb of Whittier in March 2007, but soon after got into debt and had to leave their own home.

The identity of the octuplets’ father remains unknown, but reports suggest they were conceived with frozen sperm donated by a friend she met while working at a fertility clinic. He is the father of her twins, born two years ago.

Her fertility doctors are under some scrutiny as well, with experts stunned by their apparent lack of responsibility for transferring eight embryos in the first place not to mention that she was reportedly not infertile, but simply loved having children. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine frowns upon implanting more than two or three embryos at a time and has started an investigation into the case.

How about instead of this BURDEN on society and trying to get rich quick you get a real job. But now the rest of us have to work harder to support her children. I think the fertility clinic is to blame and there should be some legal reprocusions. This should not have been allowed in the first place. I hope noone pays for her interview let her sit at home and stew instead of geting a quick buck.

I feel so sorry for the children. What ever her motive- money or compulsion, the bottom line is there are 14 little ones all under 8 years that can not possibly be nurtured and cared for without outside help and intervention. With people not coming forward to help as they did with the McCauley 7 in Iowa these little lives will continue to cost society greatly. And the Doctor/fertility clinic- he should have his license taken away- I thought his oath was do no harm…. he potentially has harmed all 14 little lives by putting them in high risk situations. I just feel so sad for the children, all of them… I can’t spin a positive future with the current reality.
