Caylee Anthony’s Mom’s Diary Post 5 Days After She Disappeared: ‘I Have No Regrets’

February 18, 2009

(ChattahBox) — While Casey Anthony, 22, remains in jail, charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, 2, new evidence has been released, including a chilling diary entry days after her the disappearance of Calyee.

Among revelations in the newly-released documents, which included 1,000 photographs, investigators now believe Caylee died sometime between June 16 and June 27. They also claim to have traced duct tape, plastic bags and a canvas laundry bag found last December near where Caylee’s remains were discovered in a wooded area to the nearby house the child shared with her mother and grandparents. A heart-shaped sticker found on Caylee’s mouth is similar to stickers found at the Anthony home, according to the documents.

The documents released by the Florida State’s Attorney also shed possible light on the relationship between Casey Anthony and her mother, Cindy. One friend of Casey’s quoted in the documents, Annie Downing, reportedly told police that Casey was jealous of her mother’s relationship with Caylee.

Downing also reportedly said Casey was afraid she was having a mental breakdown in late 2006 or early 2007, but decided not to seek help after speaking with her mother.

And then there is the diary entry, five days after Caylee was last seen alive. Casey Anthony wrote:

“I have no regrets, just a bit worried,” Anthony wrote in a journal entry dated June 21. “I completely trust my own judgment I know that I made the right decision. I just hope that the end justifies the means.”

The handwritten diary continues, “This is the happiest that I have been in a very long time.”

Casey remains at the Orange County Jail in Orlando without bond, awaiting a trial expected to begin later this year.

I’m not taking up for Crazy, but the diary was dated June 21, 2003…

Theresa, that is what Casey’s defense team is alleging. The police on the otherhand for now are saying they have not yet authenticated when the diaries were written. “The investigation is continuing and there are ways to tell when this was written,” says a police source. “At this point, we can’t definitively say when this entry was written.”

Im not taking up for her either… but where was the diary found? If it was found at the Anthony home, was Casey even there on June 23, 2009? I thought she left the home for a month or so. Do people think she went inside, made that entry in the diary, and left afterward w/out anyone knowing?

I agree Alice. In the pictures the police released, it shows the date she wrote was June 21, 2003. Did she carry the diary with her or did she go back to the house to write a diary entry that could be incriminating? I think she’s guilty, but I don’t think she’s dumb enough to write about it in her diary.
