90% Want Bush Crimes Investigation according to Air America Poll

February 24, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Perhaps more a sign of how polarized our country has become over politics, a new poll held by Air America Media gave a startling result with a shocking twist. 90% of Air America’s 9000 respondents want to see Bush and Company pay for their crimes with either hard time in jail or hard time in jail after enhanced interrogation techniques used at Guantánamo Bay.

It should be noted, Air America Media is an American radio network specializing in politically liberal talk programming.
The poll was inspired by a question raised by Time Magazine’s Joe Klein: “Should Obama pardon George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and Dick Cheney?” The idea: a pardon would brand them for crimes without the agony of a trial.

While the audience surveyed was heavily influenced to the left sentiment does seem to exist throughout that the Bush era weighs heavily on many Americans.  A recent USA Today/Gallup poll said more than 60% polled wanted their consciences eased regarding Bush-era crimes.

If you share that sentiment, Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont has a petition to show President Obama that an investigation of possible crimes committed by the Bush administration is the will of the nation. You can sign it here.
