McCain Daughter Rips Into Ann Coulter

March 10, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain, has torn into Ann Coulter, claiming she is one of the reasons for the Republican Party’s lack of support from the younger generation.

On the Daily Beast, McCain wrote in her latest blog entry that she believe Coulter (shown) is probably the ‘biggest culprit’ in perpetuating an image of the GOP that have become increasingly negative over the last several years, especially during the campaign.

“Everything about her is extreme: her voice, her interview tactics, and especially the public statements she makes about liberals. Maybe her popularity stems from the fact that watching her is sometimes like watching a train wreck,” she wrote in the entry.

She also says that the Republican Party is as ‘hip as Donny Osmond’, using the comparison to show how they have become increasingly out of touch with the younger generation, a point further proven by the ‘Joe the Plumber’ media frenzy created by her own father during the Presidential campaign.

I’m no fan of Ann Coulter but I don’t think she’s driving younger voters from the ranks and files of the Republican Party. So who IS doing that? One culprit almost certainly is Sen. John McCain, Ms. McCain’s increasingly senile and out-of-the-loop dad, whose true and lasting claim to fame is based on media whoredom and his own unrelentingly self-aggrandizing claims that he reaches across the political aisle (to accomplish, let’s face it, not much of anything other than the accumulation of self-awarded brownie points) ….

I think what McCains daughter said is correct, Meghan makes more sense than Coulter or any in the Reb. party.

She is right on,at least someone in the party has some common sense.

Who cares what Meghan McCain says? Agree or disagree with Anne Coulter, she at least has accomplished something and is in the news on her merit. Meghan McCain is only “newsworthy” because of her father’s fame. Her last complaint was how her dad running for President ruined her sex life and now? The idea that anyone related to McCain’s completely ineffective campaign and barely there Republican status has anything worthwhile to give to the GOP shows how out of touch she is with the true values of the party. And, speaking of values … isn’t Donny Osmond’s life — happily married for 30+ years, five kids — all while performing in “the” show in Vegas — more the values that the GOP should stand for? Personally, I prefer good morals and real family values to MM’s idea of “hipness”.

I would venture to say that the reason that the younger generation (I’m 23, so I fall into that category) is disenfranchised with the GOP is because the GOP is old and tired. You are not aggressive enough, you don’t seem to care about our vote or opinions, and only want to appease the old money groups. Coulter is what the GOP needs, someone who is willing to stand up to liberals and tell them that the GOP has a better way,

I did not vote for McCain or Obama this year because I hated that McCain was the best the GOP could put out. The reason that the McCain campaign did so poorly this past election is because of McCain. His daughter needs to realize that before she spouts off like she did.

For those who are saying Coulter is what the GOP needs, or that she has accomplished anything, she is nothing but an attention-seeking media whore, no better then any of the women you see floundering around trashy reality shows. She is only ‘vocal’ because she wants to sell more books, and wants more lime light.

The GOP has exploited her to a shocking degree, and she has been more then happy to help that along. There is no respect in that woman, and she is practically working the street, the way she makes her living.

And for the record, she doesn’t ‘stand up to Liberals’, Jacob. She does nothing but spout homophobic, and sometimes even racist, propaganda, and then has the nerve to call it political commentary. Even Conservatives find her distasteful, and if you believe that the way to bring people on board is by using intolerance and hate talk, then you should feel ashamed.
