‘Dominos Scandel’ Accused Woman A Sex Offender (as well as being an idiot)

April 17, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – A 31-year-old woman who was busted in a Dominos Pizza for a video depicting her and a coworker tainting food has a record as a sex offender, The Smoking Gun reports.  Kristy Hammonds, 31, and Michael Setzer, 32, were fired from a Conover branch of Dominos Pizza in North Carolina on Tuesday, after they taped themselves playing with people’s food. The video wound up on YouTube and has caused a PR nightmare for the company. One of the workers in the video is seen wipes his rear with a sponge used for washing dishes while another puts a piece of cheese up his nostril, after which it is deposited on a Domino’s meal.

The company only discovered the videos when a blogger alerted them on Monday. The videos was viewed more than one million times before being removed from the site. The two employees claimed the video was only a stunt and not real. Miss Hammonds apologized to the company in an email message on Tuesday morning. She wrote: “It was fake and I wish that everyone knew that!!!!

However her hiring was a questionable choice.  According to a transcript of the case, Kristy Hammonds was arrested last year for statutory rape, but plead guilty for a reduced sexual battery charge. The victim, an unnamed 14 year old girl, had been abused for the course of four months. No more details on the case have been released, in order to protect the underage victim.

As a result of her sentence, Hammonds is not allowed to have contact with anyone under the age of 16, and she had to register as a sex offender. A spokesman for the pizza chain said it is reviewing its hiring practices and the Conover Domino’s “has been shut down and sanitized from top to bottom.”
