Boy Shot By Police For Playing With Toy Gun

May 11, 2009

California (ChattahBox) – A young boy has been rushed to the hospital after being shot by police for playing with a fake handgun.

The boy, who’s name and age were not released, was reportedly playing ‘Cops & Robbers’ with friends, when someone saw him with the toy gun and called the police.

When police responded, they told him to drop the ‘weapon’, but instead it is believed that he pointed the toy at the officers, prompting one to pull the trigger.

The boy was hit in the upper torso, and taken to the emergency room. He is in stable condition, and no statements have yet been released by the Palmdale Police Department on whether or not the officer responsible for firing the shot will face consequences.

I really doubt that the kid pointed the gun at the officers because if this was true why did they shoot him through the back. I believe that Police officers have a tough job but they need to learn self control because a lot of innocent people are getting hurt while the bad guys remain the streets. I am very dissapointed.
