Wanted Georgia Professor May Have Buried Himself

May 12, 2009

Georgia (ChattahBox) – A mystery that has been following the case of a Georgia professor who killed his wife may have been solved, after investigators say that the man may have partially buried himself before dying in the woods.

George Zinkhan made headlines after killing his wife and two others in what is believed to have been a domestic dispute at the end of April. He evaded police for over a week, before his body was finally found a few hundred yards from his wrecked and abandoned Jeep.

The cause of death has not been released (though word is he shot himself in the head but did not leave a suicide note), but one off detail of the discovery was the fact that his body seemed to have been purposely buried under debris. It led some to question whether he might have died from the elements, or if something more sinister was going on.

But police are now saying it is most likely that Zinkhan buried himself, either in an attempt to keep warm in the wood, or else to keep police from finding his body.

“I think this will ease a lot of tension. People can get back to their lives and move on from this horrible tragedy,” Bob Covington, a neighbor, told Fox News in an interview.
