Remains Found Near River Bank May Be Stacy Peterson’s

May 21, 2009

Illinois (ChattahBox) – A decomposing body found in a blue barrel beside a river bank may be the remains of Stacy Peterson, the missing wife of accused murderer Drew Peterson.

According to Peterson’s step brother, he helped the accused murderer move a heavy blue barrel shortly after the disappearance, though he had no idea it would be related at the time. He has also said that he is convinced the Peterson murdered Stacy.

The remains are badly decomposed, but officials have said that they hope they will turn out to be Stacy’s, which would be a nail in the coffin of the Peterson defense.

However, they say they may also be those of Lisa Stebic, a young mother who disappeared in 2007.

Officials plan on testing the remains this week according to ABC news.

Wow, first the barrel was a mile away, then yards away and now the body was found in the barrel. Anyone know where the body was ACTUALLY found?

How Odd they’ve found a women’s body in a Blue Barrel, what are the chances?… It was a matter of time before you were caught. Drew the news just said your attorney said your not worried about the body that was just found in a Blue Barrel. Why Drew is it Lisa Stebic? Did you kill her too?. I got to thinking you were out in 2007 and who knows also maybe involved in Lisa’s disappearance. How many women’s deaths are you going to be responsible for? Well you’ve been charged in 1 already, now lets see who this poor woman ends up being. You are a pathetic piece of dirt. I hope you never see the light of day and stay in prison for good. The victims here are Stacy’s kids, you lost them when you started this whole nigthmare by killing Kathleen. Then Stacy’s disappearance. You’ve got to be most unlucky man in the world. God Bless Stacy’s and Kathleen’s kids and that they overcome you Drew!!

The information above is incorrect. The remains that were found were not “in” a barrel, however a blue barrel was found about a mile up the Des Plaines River from where the body was discovered by a River Cleanup Crew. The head and arms were missing.

Although the blue barrel was found a 1/2 mile or 1 mile away is still significant. Her body may have washed out of the barrel and then the barrel floated farther down river. Sickening. What are the odds a blue barrell like that and a body would be found so close together? Plus, maybe there was evidence in the barrel that suggested a body was in it at one time.

The remains werent even inside the barrel. They were a mile away. Also, the police found numerous barrels in that river. The body was said to be found by a cleanup crew on the shore of the desplaines river by Channahon, Illinois and Interstate 55. I really wish when people would write these stories, they would get their facts straight and not assume and get the readers all hyped up. Dont you have to go to school to be a writer? Some people who write these stories didnt go to school it seems.

If someone asks you to move a large barrel ask what is in it. If his wife disappears soon after…call the police. Oy!

Does anyone realize that several blue barrels were also found in the area!

Jack – Did they all have human remains inside? lol.

Olivia! Clever observation and good point.

I believe the authorities called on the volunteer river crew to help look for remains because traces of human decomposition were found in the barrel.

This particular barrel was removed from the site, correct? Who is in possession of it now?

The crew were not in this area before, were they? It’s the same reason the sheriff or police call in Search and Rescue. They don’t have enough people to do these types of intense searches and need qualified people to help.

oh, yea….about 20 blue barrels have been found in that area from people throwing them in for a joke knowing Stacey was missing?

Who was throwing them in that particular area? Drew Peterson?
