White Supremacist Blogger Hal Turner: Former FBI Informant

July 29, 2009

(ChattahBox)—White supremacist and all around purveyor of hate and Internet radio host, Hal Turner appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin C. Ashman on Tuesday to determine if he would be allowed to post bond and be released from prison, pending the outcome of the charges against him that he threatened to murder three Chicago area federal appeals judges.

Turner’s lawyer claimed Turner did not present a danger to the community, because he was a FBI informant who provided authorities with information about a plot to assassinate President Obama. Nevertheless, Judge Ashman ordered Turner to remain in prison and continued the bond hearing to hear evidence of Turner’s role as an undercover informant for the FBI.

Turner’s long history of threats against public officials has finally led to his arrest. Turner posted on his blog, “These judges deserve to be killed,” along with, the judges’ work address, room numbers, photos, telephone numbers and a promised map of their homes.

At the time of his arrest in New Jersey, U.S. Magistrate Shipp said, I’m concerned about the danger to the community,” as he denied bail to Turner. Police found three pistols, a shotgun and several hundred rounds of ammunition stored at Turner’s New Jersey apartment at the time of his arrest last month.

Turner also faces earlier charges in Connecticut, after inciting violence against three state officials, calling on readers to “to take up arms” against the officials.

Turner’s lawyer Michael Orozco has described the charges against his client as, “clearly a First Amendment issue.” Orozco said he plans to subpoena Turner’s former FBI “handler” for the continuation of his client’s bond hearing on Aug. 10. Assistant U.S. Attorney William Hogan had no knowledge of a plot to kill the president, supposedly foiled by Turner and said Turner’s contact with the FBI ended “quite some time ago.”

According to The Raw Story, Turner’s role as a confidential FBI informant came to light last year, when hackers thought to be members of the Internet forum 4chan, hacked into Turner’s email account, exposing communications with FBI agents and published them online. Pranksters from 4chan often called into Turner’s Internet radio show, posing as fellow racists and anti-Semites and would launch denial of service attacks against the show’s server.

The alleged email communications between Turner and his supposed FBI handler paint a picture of Turner’s belief he was quite an important figure in FBI circles, while the response from FBI officials reveal disdain and annoyance with Turner.

Below are some of the supposed emails between Turner and his former FBI handler:

Guys:

Turner’s supposed FBI handler wasn’t too impressed with Turner’s apparent flushing “out another crazy.”

> Got it thanks. I think you forget that I no longer have my

The Raw Story has additional details on the information supposedly obtained by the 4chan pranksters and hackers.

Despite Turner’s former role as a minor league FBI informant, there is no question he is a dangerous extremist. The Southern Poverty Law Center has tracked Turner’s career of hate for many years. Some of Turner’s top hits of hate and violence are below:

In 2006, Turner told his audience to “clean your guns, have plenty of ammunition … [and] then do what has to be done” to undocumented workers and also suggested that half the U.S. Congress “may have to be assassinated.”

He threatened violence against anti-racist activist Floyd Cochran saying that he “arranged for a group of guys to physically intercept” Cochran and that Cochran would “get such a beating that his next stop is going to be University Hospital.”

Turner sent a threatening letter to the Poverty Law Center, which said, “If you do not change your stance soon, you will face a wrath of fury that you will never be able to defend yourself against. We have the ability to reach out and touch someone.”

And let’s not forget Turner’s former associations with Sean Hanity and Pat Buchanan. The dirty back-story to the rise of Hal Turner in hate circles is the helping hands he received along the way, namely from Pat Buchanan and Sean Hannity.

Max Blumenthal’s 2005 piece in the Nation, entitled “Hannity’s Soul-Mate of Hate,” provides a concise and detailed timetable of Hannity’s close relationship with Turner, which Hannity now tries to hide.

Meanwhile, Turner remains in jail and could face a prison term of 10 years, if convicted on the charges against him for threatening to murder three federal judges.

Put Hannity, Turner, and Buchanan in the same cell. Then brick up the door and feed them through a tray-slot at the bottom. If they love each other so much, they should enjoy spending eternity rotting in prison together.

Hal Turner is an FBI informant in his own mind. Ans so what. Is he going to blackmail the Feds into backing off. Does being an informant give you indemnity from committing a felony? What is the point?? I can’t believe he is using this as a legalstrategy.

he thinks he has more power then he actually has, apperently, he didn’t learn his lesson last time my friends and I took down his site and harassed him on air. he fails to realize the FBI don’t like him and his threats are read by all of 3 people, 2 of which are law enforcement.

If you’ve been an FBI informant, maybe they will give you a Club Fed to spend your next 20 years. I’ll shtup Phyllis for you while you’re gone.

The Feds are trying to hold him as long as possible without bail so he can fail to show at all his Connecticut appearances. He will serve the two sentences consecutively. You will get out of prison in time for your grandson’s Bar Mitzvah.

Look, he’s an informant. He will have lost all of his supporters BECAUSE THEY CAN’T TRUST HIM. He’s an agent provocateur. A phony. Why would any of his supporters believe him when it’s totally possible he’s just setting them up?

Hal is a phony. Hope he enjoys prison.
