Conservatives Outnumber Liberals In Most States, Poll Finds

August 17, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – A new Gallup poll has shown that there are more Conservative than Liberals in all 50 states. But that doesn’t mean the GOP has the advantage.

According to the poll that is run annually, 31% of Americans consider themselves Conservative, and 9% consider themselves Very Conservative. This is a significant increase from the Bush-era, where the number of those who considered themselves a part of the Conservative side dropped drastically.

Liberals, for their part, were identified at 16% who say they are Liberal, and 5% who say they are Very Liberal.

However, the remaining of the 160,000 Americans, or approximately 35%, have identified as Moderate, and don’t necessarily lean to the Left or Right.

But what was perhaps most interesting about the poll was the fact that it showed a different in party lines.

Just because Liberals are outnumbers and Conservatives are easy to find doesn’t mean that the GOP has an advantage. Instead, Democrats hold the most support in 30 states, and Conservatives only monopolize 4.

It shows a start difference between political values, and party values.
