Facebook Ad Targets Palin: ‘Stop Lying About Death Panels’

August 25, 2009

(ChattahBox)—A liberal labor-funded group, Americans United For Change, is targeting Sarah Palin’s false “death panel” claims with a new ad that will only appear on Facebook starting this week, calling for Palin to stop lying.

Since the former Governor of Alaska quit her office in the middle of her first term, she has been delivering policy missives from her Facebook page, deceiving the public by attacking health care reform with false information and showing her ignorance about the role of the U.S. Export Import Bank. ‘In other words, she has been “makin’ stuff up.”

The group’s ad is intended to reach thousands of Independent and moderate Sarah Palin backers on Facebook, which is Palin’s only political platform of late.

The text of the ad reads:

“Health insurance reform is too important for outright lies. Send Sarah Palin a message; tell her to stop lying about ‘death panels.’”

When you click through the ad, you are directed to an Americans United For Change page that lists non-partisan debunkings of the false “death panels” claim and contains a petition demanding that Palin “please stop lying.”
