Colorado Man Admits Terrorist Training, Believed Connected To NYC Plot

September 18, 2009

Colorado (ChattahBox) – The FBI has announced that a man previously reported to be denying claims of being a wannabe terrorist has admitted to Al Qaeda ties, and to having received terrorist training in Pakistan.

Najibullah Zazi, a 24-year-old Afghan-born man, has admitted to the FBI that he has received terrorist training, and that he in connected to the Muslim extremist group.

The news will likely come as a shock to several people who were quoted earlier as being convinced that he had been falsely accused. He had previously been described as a nice, geeky kid who wouldn’t hurt anyone.

It isn’t clear whether there was any immediate threat from Zazi or those he knew in the NYC raids. However, the FBI is still reporting that they found instructing for building bombs on his laptop, which was confiscated in New York when the man was arrested.

The admission is part of an apparent deal to cooperate with the investigation.

“The FBI has asked to speak to my client’s father, Mr. Mohammed Zazi, and we are cooperating fully with the FBI’s request,” his attorney told Fox News.
