Gaddafi Finds No Welcome In U.S….Or A Place To Pitch His Tent

September 23, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Muammar Gaddafi has had a hard time finding accommodations during his recent trip into the United States. Even camping out seems to be a closed option to him.

The Libyan leader came to the U.S. for the first time since he took power four decades ago on Saturday.

Originally meant to stay in an executive suite with a roof large enough to accommodate his tent, that deal fell through and left his aides scrambling to find a new spot. Gaddafi refuses to sleep anywhere but his tent, as he says he need the wide open space for his female security team.

But one after another, locations closed their doors to Gaddafi, his chilly reception due largely to the recent hero’s welcome given to Lockerbie bomber al-Magrahi, as well as accusations of state-sponsored terrorist.

Gaddafi ended up on a track of land owned by Donald Trump, who the millionaire had rented out to some Middle Eastern associates who presumably had some kind of connection to the Libyan leader, or his aides.

They began pitching his tent, but officials who found out about his presence in their county immediately set out an injunction to stop the work.

“This sponsor of terror is not welcome here,” Rep John Hall (D-NY) was quoted as saying.

“Several residents of this area were horrifically murdered on Pan Am Flight 103. Gaddafi’s presence in our community is a slap in the face to the memories of these victims and their families, adding to the recent outrage of the hero’s welcome Gaddafi staged for the convicted murderer released by Scotland.”

Who cares whether or not Gadhafi stays in a tent? This controversy is a joke. Then again; who cares whether you stay in a test or a hotel? Get over it Gadhafi.

Since when is against the law to erect a tent on private property? They do it for weddings all the time. This is just petty.

Ronk – I think the anger has more to do with the fact that several families in that local area had family killed by the man that he welcomed back as a hero. I don’t think it is petty so much as a rather blatant attempt to show him he can’t get away with it in the eyes of the people.

I think most americans has to read alot of history in other for them to clearly know why they are facing these problems today. there are things you cant fixs with guns and boms but rather better world coperation as one big family. stop being bully, follow Obama and he will show you the way. Leave Gadhafi alone to plant his tent where evre he want to!!!!!Freedom for one freedom for all!!!!!!
