Chuck Norris: Fly ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ Flag to ‘Keep Revolution Going’

September 24, 2009

(ChattahBox)—Chuck Norris, actor and right-wing activist, penned a bizarre column for the conservative blog Townhall, where he called on his fellow tea party revolutionaries to show their solidarity in the fight against the tyranny of the “feds,” by forsaking a modern American flag. Norris encourages teabaggers to keep the 9/12 “revolutionary movement going,” by flying a Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, or better yet, a “tea-stained” USA flag.

Norris describes his “revolutionary” movement against the government, as “..patriots who are fed up against modernists who seek to overturn almost every principle and tenet laid down by our country’s Founding Fathers at the inception of our republic.”

Norris is apparently convinced the federal government is subjecting him to “tyranny and oppression,” and that the 9/12 teabaggers marched on Washington “…to protect our nation” from “enemies of our republic from within.”

This type of conspiracy fueled-paranoia, led Norris to call for his fellow teabaggers to forsake the American flag to “…serve God and the republic as the Founders did” and as a way to “…keep this revolutionary movement going”

“But I was sitting back thinking there’s one way we can take a daily stand and declare that as for me and my house, we will serve God and the republic as the Founders did,” said Norris.

“If that describes you, then I suggest you fly some revolutionary flag in lieu of your 50-star flag over the next year. Post the 13-star Betsy Ross flag, Navy Jack or Gadsden flag (“Don’t Tread on Me”) or any representation that tells the story of Old Glory and makes a stand for our Founders’ vision of America.”

“Of course, patriots know that the 50-star flag truly represents one nation under God and our Founders’ republic, but modernists simply don’t get it. So what do you say we make a statement by flying a different flag and educate our neighbors when they ask us, “Why are you flying that flag instead of the contemporary Stars and Stripes?” (If you insist on posting a modern USA flag, too, then get one that is tea-stained to show your solidarity with our Founders.)”

Norris’ crazy talk of a “revolution” against the government is a dangerous game, which would only lead to further dividing our country and even promote violence. And the 9/12 rally that he described, as comprised of god-fearing patriots, displayed signs showing hatred, violence and racial animus.

Norris also writes for WorldNetDaily, the fevered swamp of anti-government conspiracy theories.

Chuck Norris: So mean that common sense and intelligence flee from him.

I got mine, an have it flying out frount of the house. I am now seeing more houses flying them. I have been stopped and asked why, after explaining they want one as well.

    Good idea Chuck!

I REALLY resent having the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag hijacked by the right wing. I had been flying that since September 11, 2001 as my personal message of defiance to the terrorists, and now to have it hijeacked by internal right-wingers is intolerable.

[…] This week’s zealot spotlight: Chuck Norris. The former Texas Ranger came out as pro-teabagging this week, endorsing the flying of tea-stained flags or, gasp, no flags at all. The Lone Wolf has battled […]

If you read the article on World Net Daily , his first exclusive version of the column each week, he was obviously referring to a particular tea-stained (LOOKING!) flag that is sold on World Net Daily’s store and is NOT actually tea stained! The words in his column are actually linked to the actual flag for sale . Get a clue people! He’s Chuck Norris–a staunch conservative! He wouldn’t desecrate the flag!!!!!!

Thank you for your comments Trudy. I am well aware of the commercially available so called, “tea-stained” flags. Nowhere in my article do I reference that Norris proposed the desecration of our flag.

But I certainly did discuss Mr. Norris’ desire to wage “revolution” against our government. Is that the definition of a “staunch conservative” these days?

Your opinion is very evident in your column. You are biased.

I was going to try to debate your opinions in this, but I already know it would have no effect. It would be pointless. Instead, I will just say that there are good men and women who have and will always die for this country. Some of them who do not die in a combat zone return severely scarred in other ways. Your opinion is lacking reality. You insult the man who strongly supports the 3% of our population who ever have and are currently serving our country. Do not look in your own corner to see the century it will take (do the math.. please) to repay the debt and interest accrued in the last year.. no, that would be too obvious. Point the finger at the one who supports freedom, as he watches you burn his flag. That has happened here. Protests even at funerals of fallen soldiers.. it makes me sick. There are times I am ashamed of people who do not appreciate what they have. Most times, it is when their opinions and views are fueled by spite and false hopes. I cannot blame you, but I go back to the combat zone in January. My eyes tear up during our national anthem when I see that flag waving. What about you?

Regardless of the horrible decisions every one of us has made in our daily lives, there comes a time to stop, weed out the noise and deal with the reality that anytime anyone of us is not part of the solution, then we are the problem. There is absolute Truth, and we will each be held accountable as to if we decide to embrace it or live in bondage without it at our expense and the expense of all those around us. Truth is bigger than Chuck Norris. Truth is bigger than political parties. Truth is bigger than America or it’s Founding Fathers. Truth is singular and The Truth Shall Set You Free. Seek The Truth and Ye Shall Find. Deny The Truth and all you have ever done and will ever do is in vain. Do not worry about anything else until you have first taken care of this and political party issues will fall to the wayside in comparision to what matters most. Now that you have read this and you know that I speak The Truth, are you ready for it?

There are two kinds of people: Those that think for themselves and those that think what someone else tells them to think. The second group depends on the media to tell them what to believe, who to believe and what to do about it. The first group already knows what to believe, who to believe and what to do about it.

Chuck is clearly in the first group and the author is clearly in the second.

Want some proof? How many people here believe we are in “an economic crisis?” Raise your hands. Okay all those with their hands up, how many of you believed that before September 2008? See, the media created this “economic crisis” and you all fell for it. How many people here believe the “economic crisis” started with the housing bubble popping last year? Raise your hands. Okay, those with your hands up, how many of you believe the housing market fueled the economy? Raise your hands. Now how many of you know that the housing boom was caused by the government passing
the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) that required banks to loan to people who could not qualify for the loans and guaranteed the loans with American tax payer dollars? See you didn’t know that because the media didn’t tell you. You can put your hands down now.

Chuck is in the first group and the reason the author “doesn’t get it” is because he or she is in the 2nd group and no one in the media has explained to the 2nd group what is really going on. So they live their self subscribed delusion. That is until someone from the first group challenges that delusion and then those in the 2nd group attack the person showing them the truth. (Instead of just seeing for themselves what those in the first group are trying to show them.)
