Fox recruiting Lou Dobbs for war on Obama administration?

October 12, 2009

(ChattahBox) — In an article that was mostly focused on the conflict between the Obama administration and the Fox News Channel, there was an interesting side note to the escalation of  hostilities.  Fox Business is allegedly courting CNN’s  Lou Dobbs, who had lunch with Fox’s chairman, Roger Ailes, last month, according to The New York Times.
Should he jump over to Fox, Dobbs who has faced an advertisement boycott like his potential colleague Glenn Beck, might find himself in the Obama administration’s sights, like the rest of Fox, which would probably be just fine with him. “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent,” said Anita Dunn, the White House communications director, of the network. “As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”  Dunn told CNN’s Howard Kurtz on Sunday. “And it’s not ideological. I mean, obviously there are many commentators who are conservative, liberal, centrist, and everybody understands that. What I think is fair to say about Fox is — and certainly the way we view it — is that it really is more of a wing of the Republican Party.”

Fox’s senior vice president for programming, Bill Shine, says of the criticism from the White House, “Every time they do it, our ratings go up.” The end result is, Fox’s ratings are at an all-time high.  But the perception of Fox News as an opposition party has also affected its news correspondents, including Major Garrett, its chief White House correspondent, according to the Times. Mr. Garrett and other Fox correspondents have been directed by Michael Clemente, the channel’s senior vice president for news, not to appear on the channel’s most opinionated programs, apparently in an effort to ‘not taint them’?

So I guess they wear brown shirts even at the White House now. So much for their constitution oath to protect freedom of speech. I guess it only applies if you have sworn obedience to our Great Leader. Mmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmm, Barack Husseing Obama. Or is it Barry Soetero?

Contrary to the way Fox is depicted by the left, a more accurate view would be that they are the only remaining major news outlet (other than online) who has not swallowed the Obama kool-aid hook line and sinker. Fox News is actually more like the Voice of America broadcasting into the Soviet Union from Berlin during the Cold War, or Radio Liberte to the French resistance during Nazi occupation.

There’s reason why Fox News numbers are going thru the roof. Americans are tired of being lied to, misled and talked down to by the elitist left wing of socialism. This is (at least for now) still America, where you have the freedom to choose. If you disagree with Fox (as I do with MSNBC) then simply choose not to watch them. Anything more restriction than that would make Hugo Chavez and Joseph Goebbels proud.

Lou Dobbs, welcome to the Resistance.

@Rubicon Cross: The Administration that ordered the torture of prisoners of war in defiance of the Geneva Convention; that ordered warrantless wiretaps of the private communications of US citizens; that imprisoned US citizens without trial; that invaded Iraq on “evidence” of WMDs that it knew was false, resulting in the deaths of thousands of US servicemen and women, and even more civilian casualties in Iraq, and a strengthening of the Jihad movement in the Arab world; that profited heavily from cronyism, awarding contracts to friends of the Administration without competitive bids; that opposed important, some might say crucial, efforts to stem global warming, and ordered the doctoring of scientific reports to change their meaning and content in favor of the Administration’s Fundamentalist religious stance; was not the Obama administration.

Fox Network won a lawsuit in Florida that gives them the “right” to tell lies and call them news. You can look it up. One place the info is available is

If Americans are tired of being lied to, they shouldn’t be watching Fox. Fox lies. They went to court to be sure they could continue to lie without legal consequence.

The simple fact is that Fox *is* an arm of the Republican Party, and it is waging war on the duly-elected United States Government; a war of words, propaganda. It is a war that is designed to support racism, bigotry, and the “right” or large corporations to disregard the law, and run smaller competitors out of business with illegal tactics, and to deceive and cheat consumers.; a war to support the “right” of the wealthy to exploit the poor.

Your failure to grasp that point means that you are either wealthy and White, a paid shill for Fox and the GOP, or abysmally ignorant. Which is it?

The mindset of the above person is main vector of the cultural syphilis that is killing America.

Old man spews his programmed hate-speech couched in his warm, dry and “SAFE” environment. He’s ungrateful for his safety and prosperity — totally un-American.

We used to like Obama — but his “it’s OK to blame America for everything” marketing model doesn’t work for us.

One of these days we will put a common sense rural roots person in the White House.

Why is an person from an rural area any “more American” than a person from a urban area? Growing up in an urban area more than likely exposes you to more ideas, cultural differences, and experiences. Obviously a huge brush, but there is no reason to think rural is more salt of the earth, true American, than someone living in our cities.

another hater, who will make hard on the president through Fox, every body knows than he hates blacks and latinos. While Obama is trying to do the right thing, the republicans and Fox will go the lowest than they can, to make sure he will not make four more years in the White House.
Lou Dobs and Glenn Beck, they criticize a lot, but they don’t came up whit any solutions

If this was a real war between Fox News and the Obama Administration, you would be hearing reports about the September 8th and October 5th “Obama KBC and Eligibility Hearings’ in Santa Ana, California.

Unfortunately, the only one covering this story happens to be a ‘birther’ as well as a ‘truther’. (Both derogatory terms meant to ridicule facts and conspiracy theories alike.) An unfortunate coincidence, since one of these beliefs is clearly on the lunatic fringe.

Fox News has been touting their respect for the U.S. Constitution and that is what is really making Obama, his ‘true believers’ and ‘fellow travelers’ nervous. Imagine this:

What if Fox News reported that a Citizen Grand Jury has found Obama guilty of TREASON!? (First time for a sitting President of the United States)

What if they reported that Major Cook had his case against Obama’s eligibility to issue orders as Commander in Chief dismissed by order of this administration?

What if they reported that Obama’s Kenyan Birth Certificate has been entered into evidence, complete with an affidavit from the man that obtained it in Mombassa?

What if they reported that Judge David O. Carter has officially ordered a date certain for a jury trial on Obama’s eligibility as a Natural Born Citizen?

What if they reported that Nancy Pelosi illegally submitted forty-nine (49) signed and notarized versions of Obama’s Certification of Nomination and only one (1) proper one to the State of Hawaii?

What if they reported that Obama’s very first ‘Presidential Executive Order’ was to seal up all of his records? (Including birth certificate, college and health records.)

What if they reported on his various secret agreements with Islamic radical regimes around the world? (Starting with his cousin Odinga and the Muslims of Kenya and Somalia; as well as Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to name a few.)

Yes, I think a war with Fox News would look quite different.

Instead, Fox News ha gone way out of their way to be respectful to the Office of the President, to play it ‘fair and balanced’ by presenting both sides of every issue – and they have chosen, right or wrong – to ignore the Constitutional and Birth Certificate stories.

The Obama administration, by contrast has chosen to embrace deception, manipulation and outright lies. (With CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the main-stream media acting as cheer leaders and looking the other way.)

Maybe if Fox News had more respect for their viewers than they have for the unworthy and questionable ‘occupier’ of the White House, they would report everything. Maybe they need to remember that respect is not an automatic right and must be earned, even by the President of the United States. What ever happened to “we report, you decide”?
