GOP Rep Deal to Send Letter to Obama Demanding Birth Certificate

November 5, 2009

(ChattahBox)—Right-wing Rep. Nathan Deal (R-GA) is known for his xenophobia and frequent campaigns against undocumented immigrants. Now, Rep. Deal who is running for governor of Georgia, plans to jump on the birther express in a big way, by sending a letter directly to the President of the United States to demand he produce a copy of his birth certificate.

According to Talking Points Memo, Deal made his plans known during an online chat held by his campaign this morning. Deal is a GOP primary candidate for governor.

During the chat, Deal was asked if he believed that President Obama was a natural born citizen. Deal responded that he plans to join other lawmakers in signing a letter to the President demanding that he produce proof:

“I am joining several of my colleagues in the House in writing a letter to the President asking that he release a copy of his birth certificate so we can have an answer to this question,” said Deal.

Deal’s campaign spokesman Harris Blackwood claims Deal just wants an answer. “Let’s just get an answer, that’s all we’re saying, not suggesting anything to the contrary.”

Deal recently came under fire referring to so called, “ghetto grandmothers” who don’t have birth certificates. Deal is on a mission to make sure illegal immigrants don’t try to steal health insurance under the federal Medicaid program.

The rabidly nativist Deal has now joined the fringe birther conspiracy. Shameful!

Hey, Deal – Where’s *your* birth certificate? I believe that Deal was actually born in Bolivia and his parents were German Nazis who escaped from Berlin just before the Russian invasion.

Now let’s see him prove otherwise – release a birth certificate that is acceptable proof to *me* that he’s actually an American, and not an illegal immigrant.

Obama has already shown on his web site, and shown the physical copies to FactCheck and Polifact, of the official birth certificate of Hawaii, which is the only birth document that Hawaii now sends out. (

Of that birth certificate the Wall Street Journal commented: “Further, if Congress were to pass the so-called birther bill, Obama would be able to comply easily. The bill would require presidential campaigns to submit “a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate” to the Federal Election Commission. The certificate Obama has released publicly would meet this requirement.”

And, it concluded: “Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn.”

I’m not a “birther” but Obama sure has spent a lot of money not to produce his BC. So settle it once and for all just produce the BC. The issue isn’t going away until he does.

Re: “Obama sure has spent a lot of money not to produce his BC.’

He DIDN’T spend money not to produce his BC. All the lawsuits before the election were to stop the election; that was by far most of the money. Most of the lawsuits after the election were to stop the Electoral College from voting, stop the certification of the election by Congress or stop the Inauguration.

The few remaining cases include demands that Obama show his kindergarten records and records of his housing while he was at college. Obama has every right to feel that those records should be private.

Obama has shown the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii, which is the ONLY birth certificate that Hawaii sends out. ((

If Mr. Obama would simply allow ACCESS to his long form birth certificate (not the short form which is the one he has posted on his web site), much of this problem would go away for him. That is assuming of course that his long form birth certificate only confirmed his natural born citizen requirement for the presidency.

I see a parallel though between the actions of Obama and Nixon. Back in 1973, Nixon did everything in his power to prevent the release of the actual Oval Office audio recordings known as the Watergate Tapes. He claimed it was in the interest of “national security”. Nixon offered a compromise with the release of “written transcripts” of the audio recordings instead. The written transcripts however turned out to be a joke because it seemed like a third of the text was crossed out with a Sharpie pen.

Likewise, Obama has been fighting to prevent the release of his long form birth certificate (like Nixon did with the actual audio recordings) and instead gives us the “short form” (which is like Nixon’s written transcripts). Yes, the information on the “short form” will be on the “long form”, but the long form contains considerably more information. And it is this information that it appears Mr. Obama does not want anyone to see.

Why? Inquiring minds want to know!

Nathan Deal – Do white men from the south always use those words in polite conversations? When it comes to race relations, he is a uniter not a divider, right? But maybe he thinks he only represents the white populous and the rest be damned.

    The meal Deal should join forces with Orly taitz, he is a closeted Birther. Oh wait what this;

Judge Land and now judge Carter, smack down the crazies (case dismissed), poor little Birthers.

Not even “Fake News” Bill O’Reilly believes the crazies, how funny.

To all the birthers in La, La Land, it is on you to prove to all of us that your assertion is true (TOUGH WHEN YOU KEEP LOSING CASES), if there are people who were there and support your position then show us the video (everyone has a price), either put up or frankly shut-up.

In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that is who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.

I heard that she now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

I wonder if she is a mail order bride, just like her law degree? She is perfect reporter material for “Fake News”, where unfounded rumors and innuendo reign supreme , unlike a our US courts of law, where you need to present documented facts, not half baked lies (prepare for more failures).

A lawyer, dentist, realtor and black belt, WOW I must say a JACK of all trades master of none.

    Whynot, can you read?
Obama DID produce his Birth Certificate.
    So what is YOUR problem?

Obama doesn’t lie. He implies, he misdirects, he misleads — so fluidly and incessantly that he risks transmuting eloquence into mere slickness.

Re: “If Mr. Obama would simply allow ACCESS to his long form birth certificate (not the short form which is the one he has posted on his web site), much of this problem would go away for him.”

But Hawaii does not send it out. It does not allow even the person who was born to access the file, and it sends out only the short-form certification. (

Re: “Likewise, Obama has been fighting to prevent the release of his long form birth certificate.”

No he hasn’t. There has not been a lawsuit against Obama just for the birth certificate. The vast bulk of the cases were before the election and tried to stop the election. The vast bulk of the cases after the election tried to stop the Electoral College from voting, the Congress from certifying the election or the Inauguration. The few remaining cases included demands that Obama show his kindergarten records and his housing records while at college. These also were NOT cases for the birth certificate.

Obama has shown to both FactCheck and Politifact, the physical copy of the only birth certificate that Hawaii sends out. He posted it, and the facts on it were twice confirmed by the officials in Hawaii. (

Birthers suffer from cognitive rigidity. They keep telling Obama to release the long form BC. Too dumb to realize that the ONLY legal form of birth identification in Hawaii since 2000 is the short form Certification of Live Birth, a copy of which he furnished to factcheck that they published online.

Read my lips. The long form is no longer valid. The short form which was approved by the Federal government has ALL THE INFORMATION necessary to prove birth under Federal law.

As to Kenya, give it up folks. Obama’s mama was NEVER in the country. This has been confirmed by the Kenyan government.

He is a natural born citizen and President. Deal with it.

Why wouldn’t everyone want that teleprompter reading fraud to produce his vaulted birth certificate? How about all his school records? How about releasing this piece of dog sh**’s criminal history. I’d love to find out if he was involved in “dealing” as so many people believe.

Come on you Obamination—inquiring minds are waiting to hear the truth…

    Bill/ Rich/ Sam/ H.R.I.M

You guys make me laugh, thanks.

Here is the point, your side has not won a case, I know, I know, you have real facts but when shown to a real judge he throws you out on your fat white ass.

Now I understand, you get your proof is on the internet (Make Believe) so when you get to a USA Court of Law (Real World) you lose.

Win a case and then many of us will start to believe, till then, you guys are seen as Jokesters, Crazies or just plain Racists (or maybe all of them).

Please find your tin hats and stop listening to the voices in your head.

Frankly, Either put up or shutup!

Deal with that. But really thanks for the laughs.

SMRSTRAUSS is an O-Bot whose mission is to undermine blogs questioning Obama’s eligibility. One blogger had this to say about SMRSTRAUSS:

“With a little bit of work, I was able to find out this O-bot was likely Obama Superdelegate from DC, Shadow Senator Paul Strauss.”
