New Details As Office Shooter Arrested

November 6, 2009

Florida (ChattahBox) – Police have arrested a 40-year-old former employee of an office where a shooting occurred this afternoon.

It was previously reported that two died, and six were injured. However, it has now been confirmed that there was one death, and five are injured, but in stable condition.

Jason Rodriguez reportedly walked into the engineering firm he had been fired from two years ago, and opened fire with a handgun.

He fled, but was later found at his mother’s home in Orlando. He surrendered peacefully, and is now in police custody.

When asked why he opened fire on his former coworkers, he replied: “”Because they left me to rot.”

The motive is believed to have been anger over his financial status. Since being fired from the firm, he has taken a job at a Subway, where he is making less than $30,000 a year. He is up to $90,000 in debt, and had recently filed for bankruptcy.

He has not been formally charges, as of yet, with the shootings, and the name of the employee who was killed has not been released.
