DC sniper John Allen Muhammad put to death

November 11, 2009

(ChattahBox) — John Allen Muhammad, 48, the “DC Sniper” who terrorized the capital seven years ago with a Beltway shooting spree that claimed 10 lives faces was executed last night by lethal injection, at the Greensville Correctional Center, for one of those 10 killings, that of Dean Meyers at a gas station in Manassas, Va.  In a written statement issued earlier Tuesday, lawyer Sheldon accused Virginia of racing to “execute a severely mentally ill man who also suffered from Gulf War Syndrome the day before Veterans Day.”

Journalists who witnessed the execution said a clean-shaven Muhammad who opted not to select a spiritual adviser, was stoic as he was strapped down and as the lethal injection was administered without a hitch.  Mohammad, 48, never said nothing from the time he entered the death chamber to his death. His death was a heck of a lot more peaceful then the people he killed so ruthlessly. Over three terrifying weeks in October 2002, working with his young accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo who was 17 at the time, Muhammad killed 10 people in the D.C. metro area in a series of sniper attacks that terrorized the populace and garnered national interest. The two were captured on October 24 of that year at a Maryland rest stop. Malvo is serving a life sentence in prison.

We only have one life to live. Let’s not waste it by making bad decisions. We were given a free-will to choose life or death. Let us make it a point to always choose life. No matter how hard life is sometimes, it’s always good to be alive!

Thats absurd!!! He had enough mental capacity to rig up a car to become a killing machine and go about killing 10 people. Yes he is mentally ill, but we should not excuse his actions and should respond in kind.
