Police Search For More Bodies Next Door to Accused Serial Killer’s Home as Stench Returns

November 12, 2009

Ohio (ChattahBox) – While convicted rapist Anthony Sowell is in jail awaiting trial on 5 charges of aggravated murder after police found the bodies of 11 women at his home, police have now searched the house next door for more bodies and were seen carrying out bags of evidence.  Police did not indicate what had been removed.

Initially, six bodies were found, but police  added four to the list that were pulled from the backyard of Anthony Sowell, plus a skull. All 10 of the bodies have been identified but the skull is still unknown. But renewed strong odors reportedly have now sent investigators back to a house believed to be abandoned next door to Sowell’s home.  If the house is truly abandoned it seems like a very logical place to search, odors or not. FBI agents next plan to conduct a thermal-energy search of the property next door.

Sowell has been convicted in the past of rape, and was recently brought up on charges of rape, felonious assault and kidnapping, which eventually lead to his home being searched. He allegedly lured women with liquor and attacked them in his home. All of the women were black and most had been strangled, the coroner said.
