Pregnant Mother Allowed To Die As EMT’s Are “On Break”

December 21, 2009

New York (ChattahBox) – In a disgusting show of callous disregard for human life, two EMT’s allegedly allowed a young, pregnant mother die because they were ‘on break’.

Eutisha Revee Rennix (25), was six-months pregnant, and an employee at a Brooklyn Au Bon Pain. She was at work when she began suffering from stomach pains, and collapsed into a seizure.

The employees rushed to get help, asking for aid from two EMT’s who were in the shop getting bagels. It should have been a fortunate situation to have them there.

But the two disgusting excuses for aid workers allegedly told the employees that they were on break and couldn’t help. They promptly left with their food, leaving shocked workers to make a desperate 911 call.

“That was when the manager ran out to try and get help from across the plaza,” one employee told the NY Post.. “Then the ambulance finally came, but it was too late.”

In the meantime, the young mother of a three-year-old boy died.

Not only was it likely due to the lack of aid from the EMT’s who refused to help, but the first ambulance that arrived is believed to have not had the equipment they are required to carry on hand to help.

“I couldn’t believe it,” an eyewitness said. “The whole thing was like a bad joke.”

The six-month-old baby, named Jahniya Renne Woodson, survived for a little over 2 hours after her mother, but was too premature to survive.

The two EMT’s have been placed on a laughable ‘paid but limited duty’, but both this incident, and that involving the first ambulance, is being investigated.

If they were not on duty, they did not have to do anything. their scope of practice is only limited to the time they are ‘on the clock’ per say. Now if they were working that day, and on break, then yes it is a criminal offense known as negligence.
