Palin: Obama Could Win in 2012 if He Bombed Iran

February 7, 2010

(ChattahBox)—-Sarah Palin, a paid contributor to Fox News, sat down for a cozy 25-minute chat with Chris Wallace on Sunday, to talk about her political future after the delivery of her keynote speech at the Tea Party Convention. And to Wallace’s dismay Palin did not jump on his lap during the interview. But the love-fest interview was notable for two remarks made by Palin. The first being that she believed if President Obama “decided to toughen up” and “played the war card,” and bombed the hell out of Iran, then he would be hard to beat in 2012. In Palin’s worldview a leader isn’t “tough” unless he or she is declaring war on another country. Apparently, if Palin or someone like her, ever reaches the White House there would be lots of tough talk, bombing and war declaring.

Her other noteworthy comment, if bombing Iran, wasn’t frightening enough; was that she apparently plans to run for president, despite a recent poll showing that a whopping 71 percent of people questioned don’t want to see her run for president. The half-term governor of Alaska told Wallace that it would be ”absurd” for her not to consider running for president in 2012. But 71 percent of Americans thinks it would be “absurd” if the likes of Sarah Palin did run.

Palin is not the first neoconservative to suggest that President Obama should declare war on Iran to jump start his presidency. Neoconservative scholar Daniel Pipes penned an article for the right-wing National Review, suggesting that President Obama can “save” his presidency…by bombing Iran.

During Palin’s interview with Wallace, she didn’t appear to be stealing glances at crib notes scribbled on her hand. She apparently committed the following gems to memory:

WALLACE: “How hard do you think President Obama would be to defeat in 2012?”

PALIN: “It depends on a few things, say he played — I got this from Buchanan — say he played the war card. Say he decided to declare war on Iran or decide to really come out and do whatever he could to support Israel–which I would like him to do. That changes the dynamics of what we can assume will happen between now and three years. Because I think if the election were today, Obama would not be elected.”

WALLACE: “You’re not suggesting that Obama would cynically play the war card?”

PALIN: “I’m not suggesting that, I’m saying if he did, things would dramatically change if he decided to toughen up and do all that he can to secure our nation and secure our allies. I think people would shift their thinking a bit.”

“Obama” is Swahili for “Carter.” If I wanted corporate shills, I would have voted for McCain and Palin. I prefer an honest whore to a lying slut.
