Obama Makes Statement On Social Security Fix

February 20, 2010

US (ChattahBox) – President Obama spoke at a town hall meeting in Henderson, Nevada this week, and among the topics discussed was the possibility of extending the life of Social Security.

At the rate of consumption, Social Security will be dry within the next 20 years, leaving nothing left for retirement for newer, current, and future generations.

Obama has suggested that lifting the $109,000 tax cap would allow for more to be put in, and would extend and bolster Social Security for those who are retiring.

It is a move that has been suggested before, and has been met with some enthusiasm on some sides, and wide criticism on the other.
