Lou Dobbs Whips Up Teapartiers: ‘About Half of Our Economy is Socialist’

April 16, 2010

(ChattahBox)—-Lou Dobbs, former CNN resident-in-chief, incendiary conspiracy theorist, was on hand at a midtown Manhattan tea party rally Thursday evening to pander to the screaming right-winge fringe crowd. “About half of our economy is socialist and no one is talking about it,” he declared to thundering applause.

Held in front of the James A. Farley Post Office, Dobbs was introduced as a brave right-wing hero for bailing from CNN, after the cable network became too liberal.

With a live band on hand leading the crowd in a chant of “We’re not your slaves,” Dobbs drew an exuberant reception. Fresh off of a six-page GQ profile, in which he hinted he may run for president in 2012, Dobbs revved the crowd up by telling them they were “dangerous.” “You are scaring the hell out of them. You, my friends, are dangerous – and I love that about you,” roared Dobbs.

According to the NY Daily News, not everyone was a fan of the teabagger crowd, Dobbs’ birther conspiracies and “illegals are disease ridden” rhetoric. “A resident of a nearby building dissented with a banner that hung from his window. ‘”Go Away Tea Baggers,” it said.
