Alleged Chandra Levy Killer Due For Court in Washington D.C

May 14, 2010

West Virginia (ChattahBox) – The man who has been charged in the 2001 murder of federal intern Chandra Levy is set to appear in court in front of Superior Court Judge Gerald I. Fisher.

Levy was an intern working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, whose case took a turn in the media after it was discovered following her disappearance that she had been having an affair with married Rep. Gary Condit (D-Ca).

Her remains were found in 2002, a year after she disappeared, and Ingmar Guandique was arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Guandique was an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who had previously been arrested for assaulting two women in Rock Creek Park, where Levy’s remains were found.

His attorneys are asking for a new location for the trial, as they claim extensive media coverage in the area will make it hard their client to receive a fair trial.
