Details Emerge On Would-Be Bin Laden Assassin, Gary Brooks Faulkner

June 16, 2010

Pakistan (ChattahBox) – Authorities in Pakistan have been releasing details on Gary Brooks Faulkner, the Colorado construction worker who set off with in the country with nothing but a pistol, a sword, and a crazy dream to kill Public Enemy No. 1, Osama bin Laden.

The story has captured headlines all week: a construction worker with failing kidneys started an elaborate plan to find and kill bin Laden.

He has been traveling to Pakistan for some time, with six confirmed trips under his belt. He has picked up some of the language, gotten to know locals in Bumburate, and grown a long beard to blend in when he travels.

Faulkner has done all of this under the belief that God spoke to him, and told him to avenge the deaths of those who died in 9/11.

“Our military has not been able to track Osama down yet.  It’s been 10 years. It’s easier as a civilian, dressed in the local dress, to infiltrate the inside, the local people, gain their confidence and get information and intel that you couldn’t get as an American soldier, Navy SEAL, whoever you might be,” Scott Faulkner, the suspects’ brother, said in a surprisingly supportive sound bite.

“He’s as normal as you and I. He’s just very passionate.”

His sister was a little less open to the idea of his crusade.

“I’m worried about him. I’m worried that in Pakistan they won’t give him his dialysis and if he doesn’t get it, he’s in serious trouble,” Deanna Faulkner said.

What else do we know about him? Very little.

He is a devout Christian, and did time in prison. He only has 9% of his kidney function, and he may possibly have a few mental issues.

He is expected to have a psychiatric exam later today.
