Emily’s List Targets Radical Agenda of Palin’s Mama Grizzlies (Video)

August 18, 2010

(ChattahBox)—Sarah Palin promotes her so-called “Mamma Grizzly” candidates as a new wave of conservative feminists, who pursue a public life, while raising families and espousing right-wing values. But Palin and her group of female extremists, are decidedly anti-women, running on anti-choice and anti-family platforms. The group EMILY’s List, has released a clever Web ad, as part of a new “Sarah Doesn’t Speak for Me” campaign, depicting women dressed as Mama Grizzlies, denouncing Palin’s radical policies. The women in the ad, say they want to protect “federal funding for our schools” and the “right to hibernate with whoever we choose.”

EMILY’s list is described on its website, as a group “dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to office. EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, released a statement slamming “Palin’s Backwards-Looking Candidates,” who [say] no to health care, no to commonsense financial reform, no to corporate accountability, and no to women making their own choices.”

Schriock described the “Sarah Doesn’t Speak for Me” campaign, as multi-faceted initiative to defeat Palin’s Mama Grizzly candidates:

“Palin has made it her mission to defeat candidates who have worked hard to champion the rights of women and families across the country and replace them with conservative candidates who want to repeal health care, stand with big business, and eliminate a woman’s right to choose. So today, EMILY’s List is calling on women – and men! – to let their voices be heard and to reject Palin’s reactionary candidates and backward-looking agenda. We’re asking Democrats, Independents, and moderate Republicans who have no home – to join us in our new campaign, Sarah Doesn’t Speak for Me.”
