Debate Fireworks: Rand Paul Refuses to Shake Jack Conway’s Hand (Video)

October 18, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)–Last night’s debate between Kentucky U.S. senatorial candidates tea party favorite and self-certified ophthalmologist Rand Paul and Attorney General Jack Conway, grew so heated that Paul announced, “When this debate ends you’ll notice that I will not be shaking his hand tonight.” The fireworks grew out of Conway’s attack ad that questioned Paul’s membership in a banned college fraternity that mocked Christianity. And Paul’s participation in a bizarre college “prank” as documented by GQ Magazine, wherein a woman was blindfolded, tied up and forced to kneel before the false god “Aqua Buddha.” Paul refused to explain the “Aqua Buddha” incident and instead accused Conway of lying. It all went downhill from there.

Paul, said in response to the Aqua Buddha line of attack, “I will not shake hands with someone who attacks my religion and attacks my Christian beliefs.”

Paul, asked “Have you no shame?”

Conway persisted, demanding that Paul explain to voters, why he would tie up a woman and force her to worship Aqua Buddha.

“Why did he freely join a group known for mocking, making fun of people of faith? And secondly, when is it ever a good idea to tie up a woman and ask her to kneel before a false idol, your god that you call Aqua Buddha. Those are two fundamental questions that I hope we get answered tonight,” said Conway.

Paul, said “You just out and out lie, because you have nothing else to stand on. Run a race as a man and stand up and be a man, instead of just calling me names.”

Conway responded, “You don’t have the guts to stand by your positions. Because once get you out there and put them out there, you realize you can’t sell them and get elected on them, so you step back from it.”

Conway is right. Paul has frequently backtracked from his numerous radical Libertarian views. Conway would have been better off to stay with that line of attack.

Paul is now saying, he intends to skip the next debate because of Conway’s attacks on his faith.

All Americans need sharply honed critical thinking skills. Despite all of his protestations about Conway bringing up things from his past, Rand Paul admitted to them when he said, “..someone who makes up stuff and accuses me of something I did in college 30 years ago.” One can’t claim that someone else makes us stuff and then admit it was something he did in college 30 years ago. Wow! I don’t think Rand Paul even recognized that he contradicted himself in the same sentence. He doesn’t really know as much about KY or our government to be sent to Congress to do anything. His main job in Congress would entail stopping any legislation that might help the average American from reaching the Senate floor and cloaking it with the mantle of “this is not what the founders wanted,” “this is unconstitutional,” or some other reason based on total BS.

since when did “this is unconstitutional” become total BS! that is what is wrong with all of the politicians that they think our constitution is BS,
Guess what buddy, all of your rights, my rights, our laws…are supposed to be derived from teh constitution…
