Joe Miller Admires East Germany’s Machine Gun Border Security

October 18, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)—Joe Miller, the radical anti-government Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate from Alaska has a novel solution to secure our 2,000 mile border. It involves a very, very big wall, land mines, razor wire, machine gun towers and shoot to kill storm troopers that not only keeps undesirables out, but prevents Americans from leaving. Yes, Miller, whose staff and personal security goons handcuffed and “arrested” a journalist for asking questions he didn’t want to answer, admires former Soviet-controlled East Germany’s now-torn down Berlin Wall. The same wall that Ronald Reagan visited in 1997 and famously, said “Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

Miller, the extremist teapartier who believes Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits and the federal minimum wage are unconstitutional, made his remarks about fascist-style border security at the same town hall event, wherein his private security force detained, “arrested” and handcuffed a local journalist having the audacity to ask Miller questions about his violations of ethical rules, while working as a government attorney.

Talking Points Memo has the scoop:

“Anchorage blogger Steve Aufrecht reports that during the town hall, he cited his time serving at the Fulda Gap, one point on the former border between East and West Germany during the Cold War.”

“During that time, he said, “East Germany was very, very able to reduce the flow” from one side of the border to the other. “Now, obviously, other things there were involved. We have the capacity to, as a great nation, obviously to secure our border. If East Germany could, we could.”‘

Joe Miller is a threat to our Democracy. The prospect of this lunatic becoming elected to the U.S. Senate for six-years is frightening.
