SwiftBoater Donates $7 Million to Rove’s Anti-Dem Group

October 21, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)— Former Bush political operative Karl Rove is raking in all of the big dirty Texas cash for his efforts to run attack ads filled with falsehoods, attacking Democratic candidates this election cycle. Unlike his shadowy non-profit group Crossroads GPS, his primary political advocacy group Crossroads is required to disclose the source of its funding with the Federal Elections Commission. Wednesday’s filing revealed a whopping $7 million donation from the infamous Swiftboater Bob J. Perry. The Texas builder funded the sleazy smear campaign Swift Boat Veterans for Truth against John Kerry in 2004.

Crossroads has raised a total of $24.1 million this year to flood the airwaves with attack ads against Democratic candidates.

Together with the secret donors of Crossroads GPS, Karl Rove’s Republican operations are on track to raise nearly $65 million for the mid-term elections.

In the wake of the Citizens United decision, the airwaves have been blanketed with attack ads supporting Republican candidates paid for with undisclosed cash from special interests.

Who else donated to Karl Rove’s attack ads filled with lies and misrepresentations? Donald Trump, that’s who. The Donald chipped in $50,000.
