Fox & Friends Suggests Obama Plotting Surge of Illegal Alien Voters (Video)

November 1, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)— If there’s an election, then it’s time for the right-wing to fearmonger about false claims of Democrats stealing the election from Republicans, with made-up stories of voter fraud involving the now-defunct group ACORN, illegal aliens and African Americans. Of course, real voter fraud is extremely rare. All of the race-baiting and fear-stoking is intended to draw attention away from Republican voter suppression and intimidation schemes to deprive largely Democratic minorities of their right to vote. Fox News, of course, has been heavily promoting voter fraud falsehoods. The GOP propaganda outlet even set up a voter fraud tipline, so teapartiers can report sightings of black people and Latinos (ballot stuffers and illegals) at the polls. This morning, the dim-witted crew of Fox & Friends took their phony voter fraud stories one step further, by falsely suggesting President Obama and the Department of Justice are sending out poll watchers to “turn their back” when the hordes of illegals show up to vote with their library cards.

Fox & Friends set up their baseless smear of the Obama administration by promoting the conspiracy theory of William Gheen, the bigoted founder of the anti-immigration hate group Americans for Legal Immigration, known as ALI-PAC. Gheen falsely asserted the Department of Justice was sending poll watchers to Arizona to violate federal law by allowing “illegal aliens” to vote in the election.

“They’re sending them out because the Obama administration is doing everything it can to make sure as many illegal aliens vote in 2010, although that is a violation of federal law,” claims Gheen.

The Fox & Friends crew proceeded to hype Gheen’s race-baiting nonsense, by showing images of Latinos and dismissing the real issue of voter intimidation of Hispanic-looking residents in Arizona.

CARLSON: Just in time, the Justice department is sending election observers to that state. You ask why? Well, they say they are worried there may be some sort of discrimination going on against Hispanic voters. But William Gheen, the executive directer for Americans for Legal Immigration, said he knows exactly why they are coming. […]

KILMEADE: So they are sending, in his mind, they are sending out observers to turn their back to allow people to go and vote in elections they don’t belong in.

DOOCY: So anyway they are looking for volunteers to do some patrolling, essentially recruiting them to help block illegals from voting. That’s the problem. They say illegals should not be voting, but it’s relatively easy in a number of states for illegals to vote, particularly in Arizona. All you have to do is show a water bill, you got a heating bill, you got a library card. …

Another day, another incidence of race-baiting by Fox News.
