House Passes Stand-Alone DADT Repeal 250 to 175

December 15, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)—- When Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says she will get something done, it gets done. Just now, a stand-alone bill to repeal the discriminatory policy of “Don’t ask, don’t tell” passed through the House with a vote of 250-175. Now the ball is in Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-NV) court to make room on the busy lame-duck calendar to bring the bill up for a vote.

Pelosi announced the legislative victory on her Twitter account, putting pressure on the Senate to act.

“Proud the House voted to close the door on a fundamental unfairness in our nation 250-175 – time for Senate to act!”

If Reid and President Obama allow this narrow window of opportunity to go by the wayside, it will be years before DADT is repealed legislatively.

Make it happen!

Sorry, but words actually have meaning. To REPEAL something means to take away the current and revert to the previous. So with the REPEAL of DADT means to logically go back to what it was BEFORE, which is no homosexuals PERIOD.

This vote in the House was not to REPEAL, but to add yet a NEW law, which is to CREATE an openly homosexual military.

Can we all use the English Language a little authentically?
