Las Vegas dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez missing, boyfriend in court

December 21, 2010

[ChattahBox US News] – In a story that has all the hallmarks of a worrying crime, Las Vegas dancer Deborah “Debbie” Flores-Narvaez has been reported as missing. And her ex-boyfriend has been charged with previous domestic violence against her.

The 31-year old dancer was last seen alive on December 12 at around 7pm local time, leaving the ‘Onyx’ apartments, a few blocks from the Luxor hotel, where she performs in the revue show, “Fantasy.” Neighbors say she was on route to the home of ex-boyfriend, Jason Griffith when she vanished.

Her car was later found abandoned, with her purse still inside. Police say there were no signs of violence or robbery.

So far, there are no leads in the case, but Las Vegas police are currently in talks with Griffith. He was arrested in October for beating Debbie during a dispute and is due in court today to be arraigned on those charges.

The police report says Griffith – whose friends call him ‘Blu’ – stole Debbie’s iPhone during a row. The pair started arguing, and Griffith threw the phone away. When Debbie went to retrieve it he pushed her to the ground, kicked her several times and pulled out a chunk of her hair.

He was later arrested for battery, domestic violence and coercion.

To add more potential gloom to the story, on December 1st, her mother, Elise got a text message from Debbie which read;

“In case there is ever an emergency with me, contact Blu Griffith in Vegas. My ex-boyfriend. Not my best friend.”

Debbie later told her; “Keep it for your records.”

“I don’t want anybody ever doing that to my sister,” Debbie’s sister Celeste told CBS. “I don’t make anything of it. Just because you did something once, that doesn’t mean you’re likely to do it again.”

Las Vegas police will hold a press conference this morning to discuss where they are in the case. Meantime, anyone who has information on Debbie is urged to call the Nevada ‘Crime Stoppers’ unit at 702-385-5555.
