Terrorists Poisoning Our Salad Bars and Buffets Next?

December 21, 2010

(ChattahBox US News)—You may want to avoid open salad bars and those all you can eat buffet restaurants, which are already pretty disgusting anyways really. The latest “credible” terrorist threat coming from the Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula lunatics involves poisons in our food. Homeland Security officials would not confirm the salad bar threat, but CBS News has learned the hotel and restaurant industries have been warned of the possibility of such an attack. Nice.

“A key Intelligence source has confirmed the threat as “credible.” Department of Homeland Security officials, along with members of the Department of Agriculture and the FDA, have briefed a small group of corporate security officers from the hotel and restaurant industries about it.”

What will the Al-Qaeda Jihadists be slipping into our all-you-can-eat buffets? Apparently, ricin and cyanide are the poisons of choice. Both poisons can mimic food poisoning, that is until people start dying.

“The plot uncovered earlier this year is said to involve the use of two poisons – ricin and cyanide – slipped into salad bars and buffets.”

“Of particular concern: The plotters are believed to be tied to the same terror group that attempted to blow up cargo planes over the east coast in October, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.”

The Islamic militant group Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, is based in Yemen and Saudia Arabia, and has been behind a number of recent foiled terrorist attacks in the U.S., including the attempted Christmas Day underwear bomber and the recent cargo plane bomb plot.

I am so glad that I do not eat in restaurants. When I prepare my food at home, I know what’s in it, and I buy as much food as possible from my local farmers’ market.
